According to Article 375 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, domestic animals imported by citizens to the custom territory of Ukraine must be prescribed in declaration and application on control measures stipulated by the law.
Declaring is made using the custom declaration for the written declaration of goods transportedacross the custom border of Ukraine by citizens for personal, family and other needs that are not related to business activity, the form of which is approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated May 21, 2012 No. 431.
According to Article 85 of the Law of Ukraine "On Veterinary Medicine" the cargoes with goods imported to the territory of Ukraine must:
1) be healthy (without diseases that must be notified according to the requirements of the International Epizootic Bureau);
2) be accompanied by the originals of the international veterinary certificates signed by the state veterinary inspector of the country of origin, as provided by the relevant veterinary and sanitary measures;
3) consider the case of import of live animals to the territory of Ukraine –import animals from countries or zones that are free from the diseases that must be notified, or in cases recommended by the International Epizootic Bureau - from zones with a low presence of the disease that must be notified, within the country of origin and not transported across the territory that has are restrictions, confirmed by the relevant international organization or veterinary administration of the country of origin or transit;
4) have an acceptable identification.
