Princess Christina - the younger daughter of Juan Carlos - the King of Spain summoned to the court of Mallorca. She was charged with tax evasion, money laundering and other financial crimes. This January 7th reports Agence France-Presse, citing the statement of the court. It is expected to appear in court on March 8, notes Reuters.
The princess has come under suspicion because of her husband the Duke of Iñaki Urdanharina. He was also accused of fraud, tax evasion, forgery and embezzlement of public funds in the amount of six million euros.
Princess Cristina and her husband denied his guilt. A couple may appeal the indicted. The court also has the right to take them off after reading the case.
In April 2013 the investigator Jose Castro has put forward the charges in the case against Princess Christina. During the investigation, he concluded that it was aware of the machinations of her husband and supported him. However, in May the court rejected the accusations, believing them insufficiently substantiated.
Princess Christina could be the first in the history of modern Spain, a close relative of the king, who appeared in court.
