Yesterday, the steady dynamics of increased amount of reimbursed damages in criminal proceedings under Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine was discussed during the online meeting of Acting Commissioner of the SFS of Ukraine Serhii Solodchenko with representatives of the Association of Taxpayers of Ukraine.
“Level of reimbursed damages caused to the state has increased from 420 million UAH in 2016 to 1 billion 122 million UAH in 2019. This is despite the fact that, in recent years, the number of criminal proceedings initiated by the Fiscal service has decreased approximately from 2500 to 1400. I believe that 800 investigators is the level of workload that allows them to work out each case.” – informed acting Commissioner of the SFS.
He stated that according to the preliminary estimates, amount of funds that will be reimbursed under Part 4 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine in 2020 will not be inferior to the last year’s figures, ie will exceed 1 billion UAH.
“Some estimate work of the tax police as purely verdicts in criminal proceedings. But for some reason no one takes into account the number of court rulings on the closure of such proceedings in connection with full compensation – Part 4 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code. This is a huge layer of work that requires time and professional investigators” – emphasized Serhii Solodchenko.
As an example of significant reimbursed damages caused to the state, he cited the results of one of the criminal proceedings, in which one of Kyivan developers paid 29 million UAH to the budget in 2020.
Please note that according to the results of 4 months of 2020, taking into account quarantine restrictions, the reimbursed damages amounted almost 365 million UAH in 367 criminal proceedings sent to the court, which is 28.5 million UAH more than in January – April 2019.
